Add expected salary to your profile for insights.As one of the largest private bus operators across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria, CDC Victoria is in the business of Linking People, Places and Communities.With a fleet of 500 buses and coaches, we employ over 1100 staff from 80 diverse nations, and operate out of 8 depots in Ballarat, Geelong, Mildura and Broken Hill, Oakleigh, Sunshine, Tullamarine and Wyndham, which incorporates our Head Office.We serve the community by providing essential public transport and offering reliable charter services to schools, sporting groups and other recreational groups within Victoria.The Opportunity:Due to upcoming business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a reliable and experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our Finance team.We are looking for someone with strong end-to-end payroll experience, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to take full ownership of the role. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processing and supporting both the People & Culture and Finance teams, particularly during this period of transition and increased reporting requirements as the business expands.This is a part-time role, working three days per week. Monday and Tuesday are required working days, but we offer flexibility around the third day to suit the right candidate.The position is offered initially as a 9-month contract, with the potential to extend beyond that for the right person. If youre a proactive and dependable payroll professional looking to contribute to a growing and supportive team, wed love to hear from you.Major Responsibilities:Collaborate closely with our internal teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for all staff (1000+).Ensure compliance with relevant Employment Agreements, Awards and other relevant regulations, liaising with Payroll Manager and HR.Liaise with staff and operations managers regarding payroll related queries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.Work collaboratively with the team to update and implement changes to payroll procedures.Assist with general ledger postings with regard to payroll transactions.Assist in internal payroll audits as required and provide rectification of audit findings.Assist with month end processes relating to Payroll and Finance team.System maintenance as directed by Payroll Manager.Provide documents as requested from People and Culture team.Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience Requirements10+ years experience in payroll with proven experience in a senior payroll role.Strong understanding of fairwork compliance, EA interpretation and payroll legislation.Bachelor of Accounting or related degree would be highly regarded.Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate across different functions.Experience with payroll systems, preferably Micropay.Experience in Mitrefinch our Time and Attendance system, advantageous but not essential.Experience with mapping payroll transactions to a general ledger.Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and accuracy with a high attention to detail.Proficiency in Excel and data analysis.Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.If you are a passionate individual, looking for an opportunity to join our growing and exciting industry, please apply by submitting your Resume and a Cover Letter via the link below.CDC is an equal-opportunity employer committed to attracting and developing a diverse workforce that reflects the community we serve.
