This position presents an opportunity for someone looking to advance their career into a management role. As the successful candidate you will be responsible for overseeing the entire farm business and implementing the day-to-day plans. Working autonomously you will be responsible for arranging contract staff to assist in busy periods.The Role & EmployerOur clients are a family-owned mixed farming operation spanning 2,000 acres on the southwest slopes of New South Wales. The farm includes a self-replacing Merino flock of 2,500 ewes, 200 Angus breeding cattle, and trade steers when the conditions are favourable. Additionally, they cultivate up to 1,000 acres of crops, primarily wheat and canola.The property is well-equipped with excellent infrastructure and laneway systems, and all livestock movements are conducted with bikes, buggies, or vehicles assisted by well-trained working dogs. Great pride has been taken in the property and our clients expect that as the Farm Manager you would ensure that the farm is presented to a high standard at all times.Effectively combining traditional farming methods with modern practices to ensure high productivity in both livestock and crop management, they are committed to fostering a supportive working environment, emphasising work-life balance. Much effort has been placed in preserving as much water as possible on the property with the installation of leaky weirs and levees.Reporting directly to the experienced owners whose time is concentrated on off farm enterprises, you will need to be confident in undertaking all aspects of the animal and crop cycles as well as holding strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills as you liaise with them, contracted agronomists and other stakeholders regularly. Your management responsibilities will also include providing monthly reporting and maintaining a budget.The OfferAn attractive salary will be negotiated, commensurate with your skills and experience.
