Job description:Legal Officer, Insurance & Claims$120,908.00 per annum + superannuationFull time, 12 month fixed term opportunityWadawurrung / Geelong based role (hybrid 3 days a week in office)About the roleThe Legal Officer, Insurance & Claims will be responsible for providing legal advice in relation to workers compensation insurance and claims related issues to relevant WorkSafe divisions.Key accountabilitiesProvide high quality, client focused, strategic and practical legal advice and assistance to all divisions of WorkSafe, on various claims and insurance issues with a focus on workers compensation insurance and administrative law.Analyse and interpret legislation, including the various Acts, Orders and Regulations and undertake other research and claims reviews to assist Senior Lawyers in the team prepare advice Assist with briefing and managing external counsel to provide high quality legal services on behalf of WorkSafe and/or joint collaborationsWork with the Manager and team to prepare and deliver an appropriate range of legal education compliance programsPlease ensure you review the Position Description here for additional information on accountabilities for this role.About youYou are an experienced legal professional who wants to make a difference. Your communication, negotiation and organisational skills are highly developed, and your strong interpersonal skills allow you to establish and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
