Regularly voted one of the 10 best zoos in the nation in the USA TODAY 10Best Readers Choice awards, Brevard Zoo cares for over 800 animals and welcomes more than 500,000 visitors a year.ECZF is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated fundraising professional with strong project coordination and donor engagement skills to join our Philanthropy team as an Annual Giving Manager. This position will play an important role in raising $100 million over 5 years to support the construction of a new Aquarium and Conservation Center at Port Canaveral and strategic enhancements to Brevard Zoo.As a key member of the Philanthropy team, the Annual Giving Manager will help implement and grow annual giving campaigns, oversee donor stewardship for entry- and mid-level donors, and manage Brevard Zoos Animal Care Club, a monthly giving program. This position will also play a vital role in developing and executing fundraising appeals, donor communications, and engagement strategies to expand ECZFs donor base. This is an exciting opportunity to align your exceptional communication and project management skills with your passion for Florida wildlife and ecosystems.QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSREQUIRED:At least 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and/or grant writingPREFERRED/DESIRED:Demonstrated passion for ECZFs missionPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIESESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Annual Giving (90%)Manage the Zoos Animal Care Club monthly giving program, serving as the primary point of contact for donor inquiries, planning on-site donor appreciation events, and producing the Care Club Quarterly newsletter.Conceptualize, write, and edit compelling fundraising copy for direct mail, email, and digital appeals, ensuring alignment with ECZFs fundraising goals.Lead the execution of annual giving campaigns, working with marketing and communications staff to develop the concept, messaging, and rollout of key initiatives such as Giving Tuesday and other digital fundraising efforts.Coordinate the production of print and digital materials by working with the in-house graphic designer, printers, and third-party vendors to develop brochures, postcards, solicitation letters, and other donor engagement pieces.Assist in donor segmentation and data analysis, ensuring effective targeting strategies to maximize donor retention and acquisition.Develop, track, and evaluate metrics and KPIs related to annual giving appeals, working in partnership with the Philanthropic Operations staff to measure success and identify opportunities for improvement.Collaborate with the philanthropy team to implement stewardship strategies, ensuring that donors receive meaningful engagement and recognition for their support.Support donor recognition initiatives and engagement events, including coordinating logistics and communications for annual donor appreciation events.Assist with planned giving efforts by maintaining contact with Rafiki Circle members, writing appeals, email communications, and promotional materials to engage new members and steward existing supporters.Track donor interactions, solicitations, and outcomes in the Zoos donor database and Annual Grants Calendar, ensuring accurate records and reporting for fundraising efforts.Develop, track, and evaluate metrics and KPIs related to annual giving appeals in partnership with supervisor and the philanthropic operations staff.Other (10%)Assist in the writing of gift proposals, invitations, emails, event programs, impact reports, and other philanthropy materials as needed.Attend and contribute to the success of donor events.Other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:13 years of experience in fundraising, marketing, communications, or nonprofit development, with an emphasis on annual giving.Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft compelling donor communications.Experience with direct mail, digital fundraising, and donor engagement strategies preferred.Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and tasks efficiently.Familiarity with fundraising databases (such as Raisers Edge, Salesforce, or similar CRMs) is a plus.Passion for wildlife conservation, environmental sustainability, and nonprofit fundraising.PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENTPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.
