About the Role The role of the Osteopath is to work within a multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals to support integrated and holistic care for patients accessing general practitioner clinics within the Mitchell and Strathbogie Shires. The osteopath will provide diagnosis, care, and treatment of complaints related to the musculoskeletal system. They will take a holistic approach to bodily health, applying their knowledge of the body''s systems and their interactions to target pain and discomfort associated with clients'' diagnosed chronic health conditions. The Osteopath reports directly to the Team Leader of Allied Health and works within the Allied Health Team and wider health services team. It is also expected that this position collaborates within the larger Primary Care Connect team and networks effectively with external organizations. Based in the Shepparton office and conducting outreach services in the local community, we provide a service that goes to our clients where they need us. Key Selection Criteria The following criteria must be met and addressed in applications for consideration for this position: Double degree in health science and applied science (osteopathy) or a bachelor degree in clinical sciences with a postgraduate qualification in osteopathy. Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Excellent knowledge, understanding, and proven application of health promotion principles. Excellent theoretical and clinical knowledge on all aspects of osteopathy treatment and management principles, including client-centred self-management strategies for a range of population groups. Understanding of the clinical and social issues for people living with chronic diseases/illnesses. Advanced interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and an ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. An understanding of the social determinants of health and health-promoting principles. Experience using technology to complete daily work tasks.
