Senior/Principal Civil Engineer in Townsville Seeking an experienced Civil Designer who enjoys autonomy and the freedom to thrive on a diverse range of projects. Join a collaborative Civil Engineering team where every member undertakes Civil Drafting and Design. We are looking for a professional with experience in Civil 3D or 12D, as well as AutoCAD drafting and civil design and documentation, including earthworks, roadworks, drainage, and underground civil infrastructure services (water and sewer). As an experienced Civil Designer, you will work with a team of designers and be responsible for delivering Civil 3D or 12D model designs and producing AutoCAD drawings. Key Responsibilities: Producing detailed designs, drawings, reports, proposals, and specifications for civil engineering projects; Providing engineering input at project inception to meet scope requirements and optimize design; Designing and documenting civil engineering projects for urban development, commercial, land development, transport, and civil infrastructure using AutoCAD and Civil 3D or 12D; Managing design, planning, and development phases of projects; Developing subdivision designs including drainage, roads, earthworks, sewer, and water mains; Liaising with stakeholders such as private developers, councils, and government agencies; Conducting site visits to assess site factors and constraints; Coordinating utility services investigation and design to complement civil designs; Ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements; Performing engineering design reviews and verification checks in line with quality assurance procedures; Representing the company at project meetings and inspections, ensuring documented outcomes; Mentoring and guiding less experienced team members to improve their skills and knowledge. Skills and Experience: Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification; 5+ years of designing and drafting experience in an engineering consultancy; Minimum 5 years of competent, independent use of Civil 3D and/or 12D Model software; Ability to manage projects and tasks under tight deadlines; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Strong attention to detail; Knowledge of local authority and state government approval and regulatory processes; Experience working in a civil drafting and design team; Flexible and hybrid working arrangements; Proficiency with the latest design software and technology; Experience with local council projects, mining, and subdivisions; Supportive team culture and social events; City location with parking facilities.
