Job Description

In pairs, volunteers (driver and assistant) transport passengers from their home to the library, local shopping centres and / or on social outings.Volunteer Community Bus Assistants assist council to provide a popular and well-utilised bus service for older residents.Volunteers will be supporting older aged passengers to participate within community programs and assist with shopping.We are looking for volunteers who have good general fitness and ability to fulfill an active volunteer role including:Requirements:-Good communication skills to interact with clients, making them feel welcome.Patience and friendly mannerAbility to maintain confidentiality and use discretion.Reliability and commitment (commit to the programs roster/schedule), andPunctualityFirst Aid Certificate or willingness to attend training (we arrange and pay for this).Willingness to undergo a Police Check (we arrange and pay for this).Interested applicants will need to commit to the program''s roster / schedule, and undergo background screening checks.
