You will be reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager alongside a team that provides excellence in perioperative care to patients from a range of specialties including General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Urology, Gynaecology, Plastics, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics and Vascular.You will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient ward operations and excellence in customer service to all patients, visitors, medical staff and unit staff.You will make an impact by:Supporting the nursing team with smooth and efficient administration managementSupporting the Nurse Unit Manager with team administration requirementsManaging medical recordsTimely management of the patient management system for admissions, discharges, etc.To be successful in this role.You will bring your communication and interpersonal skills along with your excellent organisational and time management skills and preferably previous clerical/administration experience in a hospital environment.You will have:A minimum of three years of experience in medical administration is requiredKnowledge of medical terminologyExperience with patient information systemsProficient in I.T. systemsYou will be a customer focused person who genuinely enjoys helping people and will be able to compliment clinical care and be a member of our Epworth team.About GeelongEpworth Geelong, located adjacent to Deakin Universitys Medical School in Waurn Ponds, is developing an environment of world-class health care and education to meet the needs of the expanding population of Geelong and South West Victoria.
