Job Description

We are looking for an Assistant Store Manager to join our Bendigo store. In this role, you will work closely with the Store Manager to ensure smooth daily operations, coach and develop the team, maintain store presentation and merchandising, and promote store safety. What a typical day looks like Assist in leading, coaching, and developing a small team. Provide high-level customer service, assisting with product selection and technical advice. Build strong relationships with customers. Prepare paint products according to customer requirements. Maintain stock control and manage inventory. Handle customer inquiries as an escalation point. Process POS transactions and end-of-day procedures. Make local deliveries using the company vehicle as needed. Assist with in-store displays, presentation, and merchandising. Support the sales team in growing trade, industrial, and retail business. Promote a safety-first approach in-store. The successful applicant will have: Leadership skills with experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing teams. Experience as a 2IC or in a similar customer service retail/sales role. Strong people and customer engagement skills. A genuine desire to deliver outstanding service and lead by example. Knowledge of POS systems or being tech-savvy. Experience with stock handling and merchandising. Good time management and planning skills. Resilience to handle work pressures. Ability to follow processes or suggest improvements. An unrestricted drivers license and ability to perform manual tasks.
