As the Facilities Manager, you will play a vital role in overseeing the operation, maintenance, and improvement of our state-of-the-art waste-to-energy facilities. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the efficient and sustainable conversion of waste into clean energy, contributing to our commitment to environmental stewardship and resource conservation.Key Responsibilities:Operation and Maintenance:Manage the performance of the O&M Teams in their day-to-day operations and maintenance of the waste-to-energy plants under the O&M Contracts.Lead the coordination and prioritisation of resources, assisting in identifying and resolving operational or maintenance issues to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.Process Optimisation and Continuous Improvement:Identify and assess opportunities to optimise plant processes to enhance energy generation, waste throughput, and resource utilisation.Collaborate with contract partners and stakeholders to develop proposals for implementing improvements and efficiency measures.Safety and Compliance:Ensure adherence to all safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and environmental standards governing waste-to-energy plants.Engage positively with all site personnel, visitors, and contractors regarding safety matters, conduct regular safety inspections, and ensure corrective actions are taken.Maintenance Strategy:Review and comment on the preventative, regular, and long-term maintenance regimes proposed by the O&M Contractor to minimise downtime and maximise equipment lifespan.Commercial and Reporting:Assist in preparing business plans, budgets, and financial model updates as required.Prepare necessary reports on the performance of the facility and develop business cases for improvements to the facilities, associated contracts, or the supply chain for management approval.Project Management:Lead projects related to facility upgrades, expansions, technology advancements, or supply chain optimisation, including managing all stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.Manage labour resources to ensure the progress and delivery of the project.Utilise knowledge and experience of Waste-to-Energy Plants to assist the EPC Contractor in ensuring the timely completion of commissioning and testing required to achieve Facility Operation.Ensure that the O&M Team is making the necessary readiness arrangements by the O&M Contracts.Required Skills and CompetenciesIn-depth knowledge of waste-to-energy processes, incineration technologies, and renewable energy concepts.Strong understanding of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and waste management practices.Proficiency in using engineering software, data analysis tools, and computer-aided design (CAD) software.Project management skills with a track record of successfully leading engineering projects.Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and collaborate effectively with diverse teamsACCIONA has been given the Top Employer 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025 certification in Australia, which certifies the company''s commitment to excellence in human resources management and those who focus on putting their people first through their exceptional HR policies.
