In this role, you will be responsible for crafting innovative, scalable, and future-proof architectural solutions tailored to meet the evolving needs of the aviation sector. You will play a key role in technical engagements during the presales lifecycle, as well as contribute hands-on to solution development, integration, and delivery.This is a strategic position that requires deep domain expertise, strong client engagement capabilities, and a proven track record in leading complex technical solutions from ideation to deployment.Responsibilities:Lead the design of end-to-end technical solutions for airport-related initiatives, ensuring alignment with client objectives, enterprise architecture, and industry best practices.Create comprehensive architectural blueprints and documentation covering infrastructure, data architecture, security, high availability, and scalability.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and operational standards relevant to the airport and aviation industries.Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer needs and formulate compelling, customized solutions in response to RFPs and business requirements.Prepare and deliver detailed technical proposals, solution documentation, and customer presentations.Drive proof-of-concepts (PoCs) and demonstrations to validate proposed solutions.Engage with stakeholders, including airport authorities and systems integrators, to gather, analyze, and validate technical and functional requirements.Translate business needs into technical specifications and architectural solutions.Oversee the seamless integration of various airport systems (AODB, FIDS, BHS, CUTE/CUPPS, etc.) and third-party solutions.Coordinate with OEMs and vendors to support hardware/software installation and system commissioning at client sites.Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and platforms to ensure continuous innovation within the solution portfolio.Recommend the adoption of open-source frameworks and modern tech stacks suitable for the aviation ecosystemContribute directly as an individual contributor to software design and development efforts where needed.Guide development teams on technical best practices, code quality, and implementation standardsWork closely with project managers, business analysts, developers, and testing teams to ensure cohesive and timely project delivery.Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitating clear and effective communication.Establish robust quality assurance practices and perform code/design reviews.Identify areas for continuous process improvement in architecture, delivery, and customer engagement.Provide thought leadership across the solution architecture and presales landscape.Mentor junior architects and developers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.Act as the primary technical contact for clients during presales, PoC, and implementation phases.Participate in technical discovery workshops and architecture reviews.Support clients in adopting new technologies for operational efficiency and optimization.Design and present tailored solution proposals that address customer pain points and strategic goals.Qualifications:Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.A maximum of 13 years of overall IT experience, including a minimum of 6 years in a solution architecture rolepreferably within the airport or aviation domain.Strong command over presales processes, client engagement, and RFP response creation.Proficiency in architectural frameworks and modeling tools.In-depth knowledge of open-source technologies and enterprise-grade frameworksHands-on experience in software development, with proficiency in programming languages such as J2EE, Python, microservices, PostgreSQL, MYSQL, AODB (good to have) and related airport technologies.Excellent understanding of cloud architectures (AWS, Azure) and modern deployment models (CI/CD, containerization).In-depth understanding of airport-related systems, processes, and regulations.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and collaboration skills.Proven ability to lead and mentor development teams.Certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Certified Solution Architecture or equivalent are a plus.Seniority levelSeniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionIndustriesAirlines and AviationReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at WAISL Limited by 2xGet notified about new Solutions Architect jobs in Perth, Western Australia, Australia.Perth, Western Australia, Australia 2 days agoNorth Perth, Western Australia, Australia 5 months agoSolution Architect -
