Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay rangeA$141,527.00/yr - A$161,289.00/yrAbout the roleThis role provides strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the ''orange'' school bus service contracts, ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective transport of students in rural Western Australia and those with disabilities. It is responsible for contract management, stakeholder engagement, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards. A key focus is on operational efficiency, service delivery, and continuous improvement through close collaboration with schools, communities, and transport providers. The role also leads investigations into incidents and complaints, contributes to ministerial and parliamentary responses, and represents the PTA in forums and working groups.As a people leader, the role oversees a team responsible for delivering high-quality services, ensuring adequate resourcing, and maintaining financial accountability. It plays a critical role in workforce planning, recruitment, and professional development by mentoring team members and supporting future capability needs. The position also contributes to organisational design reviews, JDF development, and the implementation of operational changes aligned with new policies and standards to support long-term improvement.About You!To excel in this role, you should possess:Proven experience in operational management and/or contract administration, including monitoring KPIs related to service performance and safety. Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated financial and budgeting capability.Sound knowledge and experience in system development, quality management principles, and continuous improvement practices. Holds a relevant tertiary qualification and/or brings equivalent experience in a similar role.Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to develop staff and manage performance in dynamic environments. Experienced in resource planning and aligning teams to deliver high-quality, customer-focused services.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey ideas, influence stakeholders, and build effective working relationships across diverse groups.Demonstrated capability in negotiation, conflict resolution, and applying customer service principles, with a collaborative approach to teamwork and problem-solving.About UsThe Public Transport Authoritys (PTA) vision is to be recognised as a leader in providing world-class public transport services and solutions.
