The area is mainly rural, with three Indigenous communities at Peppimenarti, Nganmarriyanga, and Wadeye, managed by the Council.The Councils vision is to work together to make a difference in the community by creating respectful, peaceful, and safe places. Its mission is to walk alongside culture, country, and people to build a stronger community by working together, creating opportunities, and providing accessible services and facilities.Position Summary:The Post Office Coordinator manages daily operations at the Licenced Post Office (LPO) in Wadeye under the supervision of the Community Services Manager.Key duties include but are not limited to:Demonstrate high-level interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Reconcile LPO registers, record, and balance daily transactions.Maintain financial records for the LPO.Weigh letters and parcels, compute mailing costs, and affix postage.Obtain signatures for registered or special delivery mail.Register, certify, and insure mail items.Sell products like stamps, prepaid envelopes, and money orders, and process payments.Ensure correct postage on mail, inspect suspect packages, and explain postal regulations.Complete forms related to mail services and handle mail sorting and security procedures.Assist customers with claims, complaints, and inquiries regarding mail services.Operate Point of Sale systems and supervise staff, including developing local Aboriginal capacity.Conduct employee performance appraisals and ensure workplace safety compliance.Perform other duties as directed by the Community Services Manager.About You:To succeed, you should have:Experience in administration and customer service.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other reporting software.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Current National Criminal History Check and Working with Children (OCHRE) Card.Why Join Our Growing Team?Salary from $94,352 to $99,977, based on experience and qualifications.11.5% Superannuation.Relocation assistance up to $5000.Six weeks annual leave and additional public holiday for NAIDOC Day.Flexible working arrangements (approval dependent).Opportunity to explore the region and enjoy a good work/life balance.We strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants.WDRC is dedicated to providing quality services and fostering sustainable regional development.
