We provide opportunities to work across our national network. dnata catering U.S. is looking for a Materials Planning Specialist specializing in food buying to join our Brisbane, CA team. This role is responsible for demand planning, supply planning, performance reporting, and cross-functional collaboration. Activities include compiling, calculating, reviewing demand plans, analyzing and setting inventory policies, and placing purchase orders with suppliers to fulfill forecasted requirements. Conduct daily inventory counts to minimize over-ordering of perishables. Manage data flow to support demand and supply planning at all product lifecycle stages. Manage product requirements, forecasts, ordering parameters, and distribution constraints. Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, and Operations to develop inventory policies. Create purchase orders adhering to safety stock policies. Manage stock levels to optimize storage and handling costs. Identify and rectify stock-out situations proactively. Develop recovery plans for service failures. Maintain supplier relationships and leverage procurement support for performance issues. Design reports on network health, forecast accuracy, order fill rate, stock value, and supplier performance. Determine quantities and schedules for material deliveries. Analyze production reports to align materials planning with business needs. Work with category management and storeroom staff to address shortages. Ensure purchase orders are complete and meet vendor/system requirements. Other duties as assigned. Adhere to corporate and divisional standards and policies. Support a safe working environment. Salary Range $69,000 - $105,000, influenced by experience, location, qualifications, and other factors. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field; or Associate degree with 3-5 years experience in CPG, food manufacturing, or food & beverage demand planning. Success in similar roles, with excellent time management and understanding of cost drivers. Strong communication, negotiation, and computer skills, especially Excel. Experience with ERP systems and material or production planning. Experience in the catering or food manufacturing industry is highly preferred. Additional Demands Requires multitasking, attention to detail, punctuality, and physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Work environment is indoors with variable noise levels.
