We currently have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Airfield Operations Safety Manager to join our Aviation team.The purpose of this role is to lead Airfield Safety functions across the Airfield Team and to influence a strong safety culture among all airfield users. The role will be accountable for airfield users and ensure that incident investigations are robust, timely, and that actions are implemented. Learn more about life at Melbourne Airport our culture, values, and what makes us unique at Join us in shaping the future of aviation as we work towards making Melbourne Airport Australia''s favourite destination.Key responsibilities:Ensure compliance with company processes regarding Airfield Incident Investigations, focusing on activities regulated by CASA, ATSB, or other aviation authorities.Drive accountability with ramp user organizations to ensure timely delivery of investigation reports with appropriate content.Influence ramp user organizations when investigations indicate that corrective actions are necessary.Monitor overdue investigations and escalate responses as needed.Lead safety campaigns across the airfield team and users.Lead the Airfield PSI, working closely with corporate safety to ensure alignment.Implement safety promotion activities based on risk assessments.Issue Airfield Safety Alerts.Utilize safety data to identify risk trends, rather than focusing solely on incidents.Contribute airfield content for reporting packages that inform safety meetings and committees.Collaborate with the Airfield Optimization Manager on continuous improvement activities based on safety trends.Administer Penalty Infringement Data.Work with all Airfield Leaders to ensure robust incident reporting.Coordinate with the Corporate Safety Team to support business-wide safety initiatives.Lead, motivate, and develop the Airfield Safety Coordinator.Participate as a key member of the Airfield Leadership Team, supporting other leaders.Update safety documentation as needed, working with the Airfield Standards Manager.Ensure all Airfield Team members adhere to best safety practices in line with company procedures.The successful candidate will have:Strong understanding of Airfield Operations.Excellent stakeholder and influencing skills.Knowledge of CASA MoS 139.Ability to interpret data and enhance operational effectiveness.Deep understanding of safety practices and Aviation SMS.Qualification in incident investigations, e.g., ICAM.Proven experience in delivering positive safety changes.Strong execution skills for actions and change management.Experience in auditing front-line operations is desirable.Knowledge of Ground Handler Operations preferred.Airside Drivers Authority License.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Continuous Improvement mindset.Strong decision-making abilities.We understand that not everyone will meet all criteria.
