GCC undertakes Civil and Construction projects across the Groote Archipelago and has a commercial workshop for vehicles, plant, and equipment.GCC are seeking an experienced Civil Manager to join the team and work in the community to deliver a wide range of projects. Reporting to the General Manager and working alongside the senior management team you will be responsible for the effective management and delivery of current and future projects including subdivisions, stormwater, sewer, drainage, road construction and re-rehabilitation, bulk earthworks, landscaping, and environmental remediation works.Duties and responsibilities will include:Work with the Senior Management team to plan and review the overall status of projects on an ongoing basisOversee the operation of plant and equipment and quarry to ensure all operations are carried out in accordance with projects documents, contract obligations and internal company policies and proceduresWork closely with Project Supervisors to control and maintain daily project planning and scheduling of worksEnsure timely purchase of all materials and sub-contractors in accordance with specifications, taking into consideration price, quality, programming and standards of serviceManage project expenditure, review and approve subcontractor and supplier invoices and provide input for monthly claimsAssist the contracts team on tenders and provide input into variations, quotes and future worksMaintain regular communication and attend site meetings with clients and external stakeholdersAs required, provide advice, support and assistance to the team and clients in relation to any technical / complex problems that may arise on siteReview and interpret permits, plans and technical drawingsBuild and maintain professional relationships with stakeholdersAssist in the development and training of staff, particularly providing opportunities for Indigenous staffSkills and Experience required:5+ years experience Managing Civil Projects in AustraliaExtensive knowledge in project programming, cost and quality control, procurement and supplier engagementStrong commercial, financial and contract knowledgeDemonstrated and effective leadership skillsAttention to detail, excellent time management and organisational skillsExcellent leadership and problem-solving skillsGood communication skills, both written and verbalAble to pass a full pre-employment medicalThis is a residential role with accommodation provided in Alyangula, Groote EylandtWhat we offer:Work/life balance, working Monday to FridayHousing and services provided in Alyangula, Groote EylandtRelocation assistance providedFull private use of a vehicle, mobile phone and laptop suppliedHoliday Travel allowance (HTA) of $5,500 per annum5 weeks annual leave + 1-week additional Christmas shutdown leaveAccess to golf, fishing, gyms, pool, tennis, squash, dining venues and supermarketA friendly and supportive work culture with training and development opportunitiesTo apply, please upload your Cover Letter and Resume to SEEK:Applications close on Friday 6th June 2025.
