Are you ready to make a difference and bring your ideas to life?We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Financial Accountant to ensure effective governance and control of our financial, reporting, and budgeting functions. This role includes managing MIs investment portfolio across water and financial investments to deliver optimal commercial outcomes and foster business resilience.About usMurrumbidgee Irrigation (MI) is one of Australias largest private irrigation companies, serving over 3,000+ landholdings across 378,000+ hectares. Our irrigation and drainage services have helped to create a diverse and highly productive agricultural region known as the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area (MIA), home to over 50,000 people. We are a dynamic and innovative regional company with approximately 160 employees across two locations in the MIA - Griffith and Leeton.Our job is simple - to deliver water in the best way possible.About the RoleLeadership: Role model MI values and inspire others, providing supervision and technical expertise to others in the team.Planning: Manage and allocate team resources, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop contingency plans.Finance: Support day-to-day financial functions, including general ledger accounting, financial reporting, cashflow management, and balance sheet management.Investment Portfolio Management: Act as a key liaison with investment partners, make recommendations on portfolio holdings, and provide investment reports.Systems: Maintain and develop financial systems to meet current and future business needs.Stakeholder Relations: Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including financial institutions, auditors, and government departments.About YouTertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, or a relevant field.Professional membership with CA ANZ or CPA (or working towards).Demonstrated professional experience in finance and/or accounting.Advanced ERP system skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.Current C class motor vehicle license.Live in or be willing to relocate to the Griffith Area (or its surrounds).A can do attitude focused on delivering outcomes.Commitment to a strong values culture and a preparedness to walk the talk.Why Join Us?Be part of a values-driven organisation dedicated to regional productivity and customer satisfaction.Work in a collaborative and supportive environment that values innovation and continuous improvement.Enjoy opportunities for professional growth and development.If you are ready to take on this challenging and rewarding role, we want to hear from you!
