From times of personal crisis to moments of national grief, we are always here providing support, safety, community, and opportunity.Position Title: Emergency Relief AssessorLocation: Sunshine CoastEmployment Type: Full time | Monday Friday 8.45am 5.15pmFlexibility: Hybrid | WFH 3 days a week and 2 days in OfficeClassification: SCHADS Level 3The Salvation Army Doorways program provides person-centred care to community members who are in a financial crisis or suffering other forms of hardship or distress.Our practitioners are mindful of trauma informed practices, working within a strength-based context with holistic principles to build individual capacity, resilience, and well-being.Join our growing Emergency Relief team in Sunshine Coast!The role:As an Emergency Relief Assessor, you will be responsible for assessing community member needs and determining appropriate financial assistance (emergency relief) and/or referrals.This is a Full-time position, located on the Sunshine Coast.Key responsibilities:Conduct interviews and assessment for emergency relief (ER) with community members over the phone in accordance with Doorways guidelinesDetermine the assistance to be provided in line with Doorways standards of practiceCommunity members are assisted to access support services through referral and advocacy to service providers within and external to The Salvation Army, where appropriateActively support the local mission delivery model by working collaboratively with CorpsYou must have:Diploma level (preferred) or Certificate IV (minimum) qualification in a related field (Community Services etc)Experience working in the community services sectordesirableExperience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds would be beneficial.Experience working in a fast-paced environment (contact centre) would be highly regardedA current and valid QLD Working with Childrens CheckApplications will closeas soon as a suitable candidate is secured.The Salvation Army is an Equal Opportunity Employer who provides an inclusive work environment and embraces the diverse talent of its people.
