Flexible working arrangements are available to all staff in the Telco Authority.Total Remuneration Package from $230k (including superannuation), commensurate with experience.About the RoleAs the Director Strategy, Policy and Governance, you''ll play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the NSW Telco Authority. You''ll lead the development of enterprise strategy, oversee corporate planning, and ensure robust performance monitoring systems are in place. A key part of your role will involve leading the development of business cases and new policy proposals to support strategic priorities and funding decisions. You will also drive the states connectivity strategy and policy initiatives across NSW Government, supporting the delivery of enhanced connectivity outcomes for communities and stakeholders. By collaborating with a diverse range of partners, you''ll contribute to legislative and regulatory reforms and provide expert advice to ensure strategic initiatives align with government priorities.Role ResponsibilitiesSpearhead organisational strategic planning and corporate strategy development, ensuring alignment with legislated mandates, government priorities, and operational goals.Lead whole-of-government connectivity initiatives across NSW, developing integrated strategies and forward-looking policies, ensuring a coordinated approach across business areas and supporting the effective convergence of government programs, infrastructure, and services.Develop robust business cases that clearly articulate strategic rationale, expected benefits, and alignment with government policy priorities, working closely with partner agencies, including NSW Treasury, to secure support, funding, and implementation pathways.Lead the alignment of strategic objectives with operational planning and performance frameworks, ensuring that organisational priorities are translated into actionable plans with clear accountability, measurable outcomes, and ongoing monitoring for impact and improvement.Provide authoritative strategic advice on legislative and regulatory reforms, supporting policy alignment, risk mitigation, and compliance with relevant statutory and governance requirements.Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal teams, government agencies, industry partners, and external stakeholders to co-design innovative, sustainable solutions to connectivity challenges.Oversee the creation and delivery of the annual corporate plan, ensuring clear alignment between strategic priorities, resource allocation, and organisational delivery capabilities.Lead and inspire a high-performance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.Does This Sound Like You?A visionary leader with a proven track record of shaping and delivering strategic initiatives that influence organisational direction and drive meaningful outcomes.Skilled in strategy development, policy and legislative reform, business case development, and enterprise performance management and reporting.Adept at engaging, influencing, and negotiating with diverse stakeholders, balancing complex and competing interests to achieve shared and competing goals.Resilient, innovative, and ready to navigate the complexities of connectivity challenges in a dynamic environment.Possess relevant tertiary qualifications and the ability to obtain a security clearance.Interested?Your application should include an up-to-date CV and a Cover Letter (no more than two pages) which clearly details your relevant skills and experience to this position.
