You will coordinate and oversee the quality of departmental Cabinet and Parliamentary processes and implement sensitive procedures supporting DSD and Ministers.You will work with staff across the department to provide strategic advice to the Chief Executive and Department, respond to complex enquiries, and prepare responses to Ministerial, Cabinet, and Parliamentary submissions, notes, and legislation. You will lead and deliver key strategic projects, provide leadership, and contribute to the efficient management of work practices and systems within the team.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the provision of high-quality strategic advice to key stakeholders, including the CE, by analyzing complex policies and identifying opportunities to maximize impact on departmental and government policies.Coordinate complex and sensitive consultations with agency and government stakeholders to influence and negotiate policy objectives, managing conflicting views diplomatically.Manage the preparation of Cabinet and parliamentary documentation, including briefing papers, reports, and responses to inquiries, ensuring all are of high quality and sensitive to the issues involved.Oversee routine government business activities, including Estimates Committee hearings, Auditor-Generals reports, and ministerial briefings, ensuring timely and accurate preparation.Key CompetenciesTo succeed, you should demonstrate:Knowledge of public sector structures and decision-making processes.Experience providing high-level strategic and policy advice, with clear and concise communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.Understanding of government policy legislation and decision-making processes.Experience leading strategic program and policy development involving sensitive consultations and negotiations.Proven ability to manage complex documentation and sensitive matters.Additional SkillsYou should also be able to:Plan, coordinate, and manage work effectively, making informed decisions and managing risks.Analyze complex challenges and align decisions with departmental objectives.Work proactively under broad government directions, managing changing priorities and deadlines.Develop, implement, and evaluate complex policies and strategies using strategic thinking.Produce high-quality research, advice, reports, and policy documents at statewide or national levels.Remuneration & BenefitsThe position offers a competitive salary ranging from $121,107 to $125,679 per annum plus superannuation.
