The Opportunity We are actively seeking an experienced healthcare leader for the role of Chief Executive Officer/Director of Nursing (CEO/DON) with overall responsibility for the delivery of high quality, well-coordinated and efficient healthcare services. The CEO/DON is responsible and accountable to the Board of Management for managing and directing resources to achieve the objectives of WPH. You will ensure the optimum use of financial and human resources and oversee major functions relating to the operations of the organisation. You will play a pivotal role in identifying new opportunities for growth, while also taking on the responsibility of directly leading hospital management teams, and maintaining strong relationships with Visiting Medical Officers and developing collaborative partnerships. Your leadership will inspire your teams to uphold exceptional standards of customer service and clinical care, cultivating a culture of safety and improvement while leveraging your influence to drive necessary strategic changes. The position is accountable for ensuring that the hospital achieves a balance between efficient service delivery and high quality health outcomes and meets all aspects of strategic and operational objectives and targets. The role will look to achieve sustainable business outcomes andmaximise occupancy rates across the hospital and inpatient and day patient programs and seek opportunities to grow and expand. Selection Criteria Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, Division 1 with no restrictions Extensive clinical and corporate leadership abilities with broad operational knowledge and a track record in translating strategic priorities into operational outcomes, delivering both business and patient services goals. Extensive senior management / executive experience having worked as either CEO/DON, DON, Clinical Services Director or similar within the Victorian private acute healthcare sector, with a drive to improve outcomes and experiences for patients, consumers and healthcare workers. Proven track record in translating strategic priorities into operational outcomes, delivering both business and patient services goals to achieve major improvements in service delivery, workplace culture, clinical governance frameworks, financial performance, strategic workforce planning and stakeholder engagement. Strong leadership capabilities and consultative style with a track record in effectively managing and developing staff and work teams and building respect amongst staff at all levels. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical governance principles such as risk management, complaint and incident management, developing and reviewing policies, knowledge of clinical documentation requirements and ability to lead continuous improvement processes to achieve compliance with hospital registration and accreditation in line with NSQHS standards and DHHS requirements, regulations and legal obligations. Extensive understanding and knowledge of private health funds, Medicare, DVA, WorkCover and third-party funding requirements in a private hospital, and experience with health fund contract negotiations. Experience in change management and will be able to inspire individual performance whilst encouraging and fostering an environment of team building and inter-departmental cooperation and communication. You need to be highly responsive and proactive, have a solution-focused approach and continuous improvement mindset when responding to feedback from stakeholders. Sound business and financial acumen with a demonstrated ability to manage KPIs/operational budgets and meet workforce, expense, and activity targets with practical experience in bed management, patient flow strategies, workforce planning, roster optimisation, and fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.
