The branch consists of Creative Industries, Festivals and Events, the Museum of Australian Photography, and the Monash Public Library Service.At the City of Monash we are committed to developing, empowering and strengthening the arts, culture and creative industries across our municipality. Through our programs and partnerships, we strive to embed arts in our everyday and deliver new, innovative and exciting arts and cultural experiences for all.Help us continue to strive towards a future were creativity flourishes and the arts lie at the heart of our local community.About The PositionThe Creative Engagement Officer will bring their strong understanding and passion for the arts sector to design, deliver, and promote creative programs in the City of Monash. The right candidate will enjoy driving initiatives to build the capacity and capabilities of our local creatives, actively seeking funding opportunities, and fostering community participation and partnerships. They will play a crucial role in advocating for the creative sector, ensuring that the value and impact of arts, culture, and creative industries are recognized and supported across the city.Please scroll to the bottom of the page to view the Position Description.Skills & ExperienceDemonstrated understanding and experience of the role of arts, galleries, public art and creative industries development play within a multicultural and diverse communityExperience in the design, marketing, promotion and delivery of creative programs that respond to diverse community needs and interestsSound organisational skills in an arts environment, including the delivery of concurrent projects and tasks with conflicting deadlines; ability to set priorities; be initiative-taking and work with limited supervisionExcellent people skills and public presentation skills including the ability to successfully liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders for the delivery of arts programmingHighly developed written and oral communications skills with the ability to adapt to different mediumAbility to work under pressure and problem solve, with a creative and adaptive mindsetRequirementsThe ideal candidate will have a qualification in Arts/Cultural Management or equivalent, with demonstrated experience working in innovative and creative industries.Employee Working with Childrens Check (if applicable)Satisfactory National Police CheckOther pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirementsBenefitsAs a City of Monash employee, your personal and professional development is a key focus for us.
