Job Opportunity at NCHA: Temporary Accommodation Support WorkerHere at NCHA, we have a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join our new temporary accommodation service in Radford, Nottingham.The team informs referral agencies about vacancies and provides advice on the suitability of potential referrals. You will interview applicants, complete risk and needs assessments, and discuss applications and allocations with the project manager. Additionally, you will assist with the move-in process, ensuring tenants are aware of their rights and responsibilities, and support with housing benefit applications and move plans.Key ResponsibilitiesNotify NCC Housing Aid of voids as they become available, 24 hours prior to being ready to let.Manage a central waiting list and prioritize move-ins in collaboration with NCC.Coordinate with our Property Services Team to ensure prompt re-let and safety checks, enabling allocation within 4 hours of referral receipt.Liaise with NCC to receive referral forms and Personalised Housing Plans (PHP).Welcome families through in-person or booklet inductions, covering house rules, building roles, tours, and fire safety.Create a ''hub'' approach by allocating space for specialist organizations to co-locate and offer in-house sessions to meet individual needs.Serve as the lead contact with NPRAS for accessing privately rented move-on options.Candidate ProfileWe seek someone with values, knowledge, and skills relevant to a care and support environment. The candidate should demonstrate how they use their skills and common sense to support vulnerable individuals, maintaining dignity and rights. Excellent communication skills are essential. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but relevant experience from other sectors or transferrable skills are also welcomed.
