Maker is excited to welcome a Junior Town Planner or Town Planner to be based in our Wollongong office.Maker CS is a fast growing, highly regarded employee-owned Civil Engineering, Surveying and Town Planning firm.At Maker, we believe in providing a flexible work lifestyle which has inspired us to change the way we work. Leaving behind the traditional 5-day work week, Maker has adopted a 4-day work week, providing you with a day off during the week and giving you the time to catch up on life and do more of what you love!With a team of over 50 staff, Maker CS is currently working on a diverse range of projects, across both statutory and strategic planning as well as providing opportunities to assist as part of LEC matters across NSW.THE ROLE:Working under the direct supervision of our Director of Planning, you will be exposed to high profile in-fill urban and land development projects, which will draw on your developing planning skills and provide career development opportunities.Your responsibilities would include:Preparing a range of different planning related documents including general and due diligence advice, statements of environmental effects, scoping reports, environmental impact statements and planning proposals in accordance with the relevant legislation and state and local policies.Having excellent computer and written skills.You will have excellent verbal communication and critical thinking skills to identify the relevant legislation / policy and interpret and apply the application to the subject project.You will liaise with clients and deliver high-quality work.Being detail orientated, you will have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Provide assistance to the Planning Director where necessary, including during NSW LEC appeals.SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:Currently studying / recent completion of tertiary qualification in Town Planning or related discipline.Strong written and verbal communication skillsOutstanding attention to detailStrong time management and prioritisation skillsAbility to work autonomously as part of a dynamic and very busy teamConfidence working in word processing systemsBasic knowledge of and ability to apply legislationJOIN THE TEAM:Working with a highly experienced team, Maker CS provides an inclusive work environment and has a variety of team benefits to support your professional development and lifestyle, including:New professional opportunities through project wins and an expanding team4 day working week arrangementModern workplace cultureStaff social eventsProfessional membershipsProfessional and technical development opportunities #J-18808-Ljbffr
