Forensicare is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its Legal, Governance and Strategy team. The Legal Counsel reports to the Head of Legal and will assist the Legal, Governance & Strategy Directorate in the delivery of legal advice and assistance on a broad range of areas to guide and inform Forensicares legal responsibilities, compliance and decision making. The Legal Counsel will be responsible for supporting the delivery of a high standard of legal services, including in the areas of commercial contracting, privacy, employment, corporate governance and risk management, and ensuring Forensicares compliance with relevant laws, regulations, standards and codes of conduct. This role offers exposure to a breadth of legal, compliance, and governance issues, providing an opportunity to develop legal expertise in a supportive team environment. Does this sound like you? About Forensicare Forensicare (the Victorian Institute of Forensic Mental Health) is the leading provider of forensic mental health services across Victoria. It delivers recovery-focused programs to consumers with serious mental illnesses across the Victorian justice system, mental health sector, and community, from early intervention and prevention to inpatient care, rehabilitation, and community transition support. Services are delivered through inpatient services at Thomas Embling Hospital, community services via the Community Forensic Mental Health Service, and prison-based services at various locations. The position is based at Thomas Embling Hospital with occasional travel across all sites.
