You will also be responsible for the coordination and quality controls of departmental Cabinet and Parliamentary processes and implementing highly sensitive procedures that support DSD and Ministers.In this role, you will work with staff across the Department to provide strategic advice to the Chief Executive and Department, to triage and respond to complex enquiries, and provide formal responses to Ministerial, Cabinet and Parliamentary submissions, notes and legislation, leading and delivering key strategic projects, providing leadership, and making a significant contribution to the delivery and management of efficient work practices and systems within the Team.You Will AlsoLead the provision of high-quality strategic advice to key stakeholders including the CE, including by analysing complex and critical agency, state and national policy, plans, standards and processes to identify opportunities to maximise the impact on departmental and government policies, directions and initiatives.Initiate, lead or coordinate complex and sensitive consultations with key Agency and government stakeholders to guide, influence, promote, and negotiate on key policy objectives and work with multiple stakeholders, who may have conflicting views, with diplomacy and tact to determine practical solutions to issues arising from complex policy matters.Lead and execute strategic and operational functions of Cabinet business and associated Cabinet, Ministerial and Chief Executive-level Committees and groups, including directing and supporting the preparation of briefing papers, Cabinet documents, Parliamentary Briefings, reports, responses to ministerial inquiries and other issues of a complex and sensitive nature and ensuring key stakeholders are briefed on priorities, emerging issues and their impact.Lead and deliver routine Government business of the Agency Statements, Estimates Committee hearings, Auditor-Generals Report Examination, other Parliamentary Committee hearings for the Chief Executive, and incoming Government and Incoming Ministers Briefings (including researching, drafting and coordinating a diverse and high volume of briefings).Key CompetenciesTo succeed in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:Knowledge of the structures and decision-making processes of the public sector and Government.Experience providing high level strategic advice, including policy advice, from a whole of department perspective, and preparing and presenting complex information including documents, briefings, papers, ministerial responses, presentations, and reports clearly, concisely and accurately for senior leaders and stakeholders.Experience utilising high level interpersonal and communication skills when working with stakeholders at all levels to positively influence outcomes.Knowledge and experience across the majority of the Departments areas of policy and programs (industry, innovation, small business, workforce development, science, trade and international, skills and investment), understanding of government policy legislation, and decision-making process and the operational practices of a Ministerial office.Demonstrated experience in leading and supporting strategic program, planning and policy development processes involving high level and sensitive consultation and negotiation, including developing and maintaining long term mutually beneficial relationships and networks with diverse stakeholders.Demonstrated experience in managing the preparation of cabinet and parliamentary documentation and dealing with high level and sensitive matters.Ability to develop and maintain long term mutually beneficial relationships and networks with diverse stakeholders.You Will Also Have The Ability ToPlan, program and coordinate work, manage risk, make informed decisions and act confidently and decisivelyAnalyse complex departmental and business challenges, at both a strategic and operational level, and make critical decisions that align with DSD objectivesUse initiative and problem solve to work successfully under broad Government and Agency directions, manage changing priorities and critical deadlines while handling sensitive issuesEffectively initiate and lead the development, implementation and evaluation of critical and complex policies and strategies, including utilising extensive analysis, influencing and creative and strategic thinking skill.Conduct research, and produce high quality writing, succinct submissions, advice, reports, briefings and policy documents at Statewide or National
