About the roleSelectability is currently seeking a Safety Officer to work in the corporate team, supporting safety across the organisation''s footprint. The Safety Officer will report to the People & Culture Manager and will work closely with management to develop and maintain consistent workplace health and safety processes across the organisation. Based in Townsville, this is a permanent full-time position.Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Supporting the organisation''s overall function of workplace health and safety, including psychosocial safety, in accordance with WHS legislationAnalyzing and reporting on WHS data to identify trends and corrective actionsDeveloping initiatives to maintain a safe workplace, using best practice principles and adhering to compliance requirementsDeveloping programs to maintain a psychologically safe workplace across the footprintSupporting the development and review of policies and procedures relating to WHS legislation, regulations, and standardsReviewing incidents and providing guidance to leaders on corrective actionsDeveloping training to embed a culture of safety and risk mitigation across the footprintWriting monthly safety reportsProactively managing WorkCover claims using early intervention methods across the organisationAbout youTo be successful, you must:Hold a Cert IV WHS (minimum), or be willing to obtainHave a strong working knowledge of safety management systems, legislation, and regulations, including psychosocial safetyUnderstanding of NDIS, HSQF, National Mental Health, Child Safety, or Aged Care quality and practice standards is highly desirableExperience in managing WorkCover claimsPossess strong written and verbal communication skillsBe committed to best practiceRole RequirementsPossess a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) or be able to obtain oneHave NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or be able to obtain itComplete NDIS Worker Orientation Module ''Quality, Safety & You''Occasional travel to various Selectability locations is requiredAbout the offerWe offer a range of benefits including:Salary range of $85,126 - $91,587$15,900 + FBT salary packaging benefits50% discounted training via our RTOAccess to Fitness PassportFlexible working arrangementsCareer pathways and opportunities for developmentEmployee assistance program offering confidential counselling support for employeesApplyingIf this sounds like you, please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your skills and experience, and how you best fit this role.If you would like more information, please contact HR Josh Cannonon at 0499 605 169 or email HRCorporate@selectability.com.auAbout usSelectability is a not-for-profit charity focused on improving mental wellbeing and contributing to suicide prevention across regional Queensland.We believe everyone has the right to access high-quality supports locally and have recently expanded our services to include child safety and residential aged care in the Lower Gulf.To learn more, please visit our website. #J-18808-Ljbffr
