Join to apply for the Mechanical Fitter role at BGC (Australia) Pty Ltd The Opportunity Part of the maintenance team within BGC Cement, this role is responsible for the safe fabrication, repair, and maintenance of fixed plant equipment. The position operates on a family-friendly four-week rotating roster, with 4x10-hour shifts each week (6:00am to 4:30pm), and one week of afternoon shifts (2:30pm to 1:30am). Shifts are scheduled from Mon-Thur or Tue-Fri, ensuring weekends off. There is also an option to work Saturday mornings as overtime for additional pay. Your Typical Day Will Include Carrying out maintenance repairs and inspections on all fixed and mobile plant and machinery, diagnosing faults and breakdowns Performing preventative maintenance repairs and inspections to minimize downtime Structural welding and fabrication of parts and repairs to machinery Conducting daily pre-start checks and cleaning of all mobile equipment Liaising with the Production team to ensure maintenance is completed with minimal downtime Identifying opportunities to improve plant reliability and efficiency Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and safety practices What well love about you Relevant trade qualification and post-trade experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment Stick, MIG, and TIG welding experience Understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics About Us BGC Cement offers a range of cement types for various applications, including concrete, precast products, and more.
