Job Description

Role Summary The Volunteer Support Officer is an integral role within the Unit Support Team, responsible for specialised and dynamic support of VICSES volunteer units and their management teams. The role includes coordination of functions such as administration, compliance, grant applications, and logistics to maintain unit operational readiness. The Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) plays a major role in Victoria''s emergency response activities, including floods, storms, earthquakes, tsunamis, and landslides. It supports other agencies and departments as required under section 6A of the VICSES Act. Employees may be directly employed or called upon to support emergency response activities following appropriate training and assessment. Who We Are VICSES is a volunteer-based emergency service with highly skilled volunteers trained in various emergency environments. We focus on building community resilience to reduce the impact of emergencies and support swift and safe recovery. We operate the largest road rescue network in Australia, provide 24/7 response to road incidents, assist Victoria Police in search and rescue, and support agencies like CFA, FRV, Parks Victoria, and DEECA during major incidents. Compensation and Work Conditions $74,580 to $82,571 + 11.5% Super Ongoing, full-time position Out-of-hours work including weekends and travel may be required to assist volunteer units during scheduled training, meetings, and activities.
