Sofitel Sydney Wentworth offers an unforgettable luxury escape, where guests discover the French Zest and Sofitel luxury.Following the successful relaunch and transformation of Sydneys landmark, we are setting a new benchmark for excellence.Why Sofitel Sydney Wentworth?Ideally situated in the heart of central Sydneys business and shopping districts, with easy access to public transport (trains, buses, ferries, light rail).Industry benefits available worldwide on parking, accommodation, dining, and lifestyle services from day one.Enhanced parental leave program.Job DescriptionProvide painting services of the highest quality as required.Coordinate with departments and the Assistant Chief Engineer regarding work requirements.Plan and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and handle emergencies appropriately.Support other areas as needed to cover absences.Work harmoniously with all hotel staff.Attend training programs as required.Perform daily maintenance and repairs, including guest room reports and departmental requests.Conduct alterations throughout the hotel/resort, including glazing (e.g., replacing broken windowpanes) and tiling (e.g., re-grouting shower recesses).Repair and install internal and external fittings such as sliding doors, fly screens, curtain rods, drawers, cupboard doors, locks, etc.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by hotel departments to ensure functionality.Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize disruptions.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during tasks.QualificationsProven experience in painting, tiling, glazing, and general maintenance, preferably in hospitality or facilities management.Strong knowledge of surface preparation, paint application, and relevant tools and materials.Competency in repair and installation tasks, including carpentry-related work.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor technical issues efficiently.Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards with a commitment to safe practices.Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize and respond to emergencies.Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.Flexibility to support various maintenance functions and adapt to changing priorities.Trade qualification or relevant certification in painting, building maintenance, or related field (preferred).Additional InformationJoining our team unlocks generous benefits including discounts on accommodation, dining, travel, wellbeing, and more, starting from Day 1.
