Senior boys follow the QCAA pathways with the majority of boys obtaining an ATAR.THE POSITIONThe College is seeking an experienced Teacher Aide to join our Learning Enhancement Team, commencing in Term 3 on Monday 14 July 2025, through to the end of the school year. This fixed-term position involves direct support of students in Years 712 and is for Mondays only, 5.92 hours per day.We are also seeking experienced Teacher Aides in the secondary space to join our Learning Enhancement Team in a casual capacity, to be engaged as relief opportunities arise.All staff are employed by the CEO and Executive Principal of MBC and MBBC and they are responsible to them for the over-all performance of their duties. The CEO and Executive Principal delegates their authority to senior staff members for the effective management of the College. The role is reports to the Principal.All staff need to be supportive of the values, Christian ethos and Ethical Statement of this Uniting Church Day school for boys from Kindy to Year 12.Please Note That This Position DescriptionCan alter with changes in the role and responsibilities of thisWill be used as a framework for appraisal.SKILLS AND ABILITIESThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability requiredDisplay patience and a caring attitudeDemonstrate confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitively to students and their familiesWork closely with individual Secondary studentsUnderstand the requirements of special needs studentsDisplay empathy to the needs and abilities of students and parentsDemonstrate flexibility and initiative in performance of dutiesAbility to work well in a team and support other team membersCommunicate effectively and display a high level of interpersonal skillsSupport the values and Christian ethos of this Uniting Church CollegeActively contribute to a safety citizenship culture upholding health and safety policies, procedures, hazard reporting and safe work practices.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Teacher Aide will be required to:Work as part of a team to provide quality educational service and care for verified and NCCD studentsAssist teachers with the management of students and enhancement of student learningSupervise and assist Secondary students who have a reduced load and attend study periodsSupervise assessments and exams for studentsProvide individual in-class and small group supportSupport students with modified programmesMaintain daily note taking and administrative dutiesAttend timetabled Playground DutiesSupport and encourage students to develop independenceAttend weekly Learning Enhancement meetingsEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEWe welcome applicants who bring some or all of the following:Certificate III in Education SupportAt least 2-3 years of experience as a Secondary Teacher Aide or TutorExperience working with students in a Secondary school settingExperience supporting students in Years 11 and 12 English, Maths and Science classesCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSPosses or be eligible to posses a Positive Notice Blue Card (Blue Card) from the Queensland Department of Justice.First Aid Certificate is desirableWORK ENVIRONMENTAn office workspace and computer desktop is provided.Daily tasks are conducted anywhere within the Colleges and travel may be required between the Colleges.CONDITIONS AND SALARYFixed-time, part-time role: Mondays only, 5.92 hours per dayCasual hours available as relief opportunities arise.This role is classified School Officer Level 3, with a starting rate of $31.93 per hour.
