Commencing a staged opening in 2024, The Star Brisbane will bring a range of unique entertainment options, world class hotels, dining, bars, luxury retail, gaming and a state-of-the-art Event Centre, transforming how people will play, shop and socialise in the river city.Are you an experienced F&B Attendant looking for a step up in your career? The Events Captain will report directly to the Event Floor Manager and are responsible for supervising, guiding, and assisting the events team. In this role, you will proactively manage the event floor staff and liaise closely with our guests and clients to ensure you deliver a perfect event flow on the day. The Events Captain will work to accommodate a range of events such as conventions, exhibitions, functions, galas, and weddings.A few of your responsibilities:Supervise, guide and assist team members with on-the-job training and developmentSupporting the Event Floor Manager to deliver small events & leading a team of up to 10-20 F&B AttendantsProvide viable suggestions to the Manager to help boost the outlet''s productivityBriefing staff at the start of every shift & troubleshooting potential issuesContinuously monitor the work of team members during shiftsWhat we are looking for:Passionate about events and confident leading a team in small-scale eventsFlexible availability, including weekends and public holidays, to work a rotating rosterWilling & able to work full-time hours (38 hours per week)A strong hospitality career focus and the desire to be part of our dynamic and expanding departmentProven time-management skills, with the ability to thrive in a high-pressure working environmentProven ability to build productive relationships and to manage and instigate changeExceptional verbal and written communication skillsValid Responsible Service of Alcohol accreditationAbout You:We are actively on the hunt for energetic and dynamic Events Captains with solid background in the hospitality industry and a keen focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
