Protector Aluminium & Glass, established more than 25 years ago, is built on uncompromising quality standards and our products are certified to relevant building codes.About the roleWe are excited to announce the opportunity to join our team as a Junior Industrial Designer with an immediate start.As a Junior Industrial Designer specializing in Aluminium Fabrication, you will be an integral part of our design team. Your role will involve creating detailed 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings for a range of aluminium components and products. Collaborating closely with our operations team, project managers, marketing, and fabrication experts, you will ensure a seamless transition from design to fabrication.This position will involve, but not be limited to:SolidWorks Design: Utilize SolidWorks software to develop precise 3D models and 2D drawings for aluminium fabrication projects.CAMWorks Integration: Leverage expertise in CAMWorks to generate efficient toolpaths for CNC machining, enhancing the overall fabrication process.Fabrication Collaboration: Work closely with fabrication and welding teams to understand materials, techniques, and project requirements.Welding Considerations: Incorporate welding considerations into designs, ensuring the integrity and strength of welded joints.Detailing Excellence: Create detailed and accurate drawings that adhere to industry standards, optimizing for efficient fabrication processes.Material Specifications: Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure accurate material specifications are reflected in designs.Revision Control: Maintain accurate documentation and revisions to reflect changes and improvements.Quality Assurance: Perform thorough quality checks on designs to identify and address any issues before fabrication.Relationships: Develop professional relationships with existing and new customers and key stakeholders.Skills and experienceProficient in 2D and 3D modelling in SolidWorks with knowledge of drafting techniques and software functionalities within the metal fabrication or similar industry.Knowledge and experience in CAMWorks software for CNC tooling pathways and operation preferred.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical and numeracy skillsProficient in Microsoft OfficeAbility to multitask and work well under pressureDesirable skills but not essentialCNC operating/programming experienceSolidWorks CAMWorks/SimulationVFX animation/rendering experience in Blender or similarBenefits and perksThe opportunity to join a market leaderSecure employment with a growth business and industryEmployee Assistance Program (confidential service designed to look after mental and emotional health)Supportive, fun, collaborative team environmentIf you are passionate about CAD / SolidWorks, enjoy working within a team environment, and would like the chance to work with an industry-leading company, please apply. #J-18808-Ljbffr
