In tune with RBGs overarching strategic objectives this team has successfully delivered proven design for delivery results, providing quality controlled structural solutions to complex construction challenges. Our business continues to grow and as a result we have an exciting career opportunity for a construction Design Engineer to join our team in Melbourne (Collins Square).RBG provides frequent opportunities for professional development and the chance to learn directly working alongside a dedicated team of highly talented engineers (150+ Structural Engineers employed in offices across Australia, NZ & SE Asia). Their skills include: creative problem solving, complex structural analysis complex structure erection and high-rise building designYour duties will include, but will not be limited to, the following:Detailed structural design of both permanent and complex temporary works and their associated impacts on permanent structuresAssist in the development of construction methodology and erection sequence for structuresClient liaison, in conjunction with Project Directors and Associates, regarding current and future projectsTraining and coordination of staff under your directionActive involvement in all your projects, including project resource management, in conjunction with the Project DirectorsPromotion of Robert Bird Group to existing and prospective clientsThe successful applicant will have:A desire to work in a core structural engineering field performing complex structural engineering design tasksAbility to use basic theoretical knowledge of engineering principles to analyse, interpret and infer on project tasksProven technical capacity and a minimum of 3 years structural engineering experienceExperience in the delivery of detailed engineering drawings corresponding with level of dutiesPrevious experience with the Australian Building IndustrySolid grounding in steel and concrete designUnderstanding of the construction/building industryProven record of working independently and being self-motivatedExcellent organisational and time management skillsExperience in the delivery of major infrastructure designs, and/or temporary works design is preferred, but not required.High end computer coding experience is desired, but not required.If you have lots of initiative, a positive attitude and enjoy working in a hardworking but fun team then this is the role for you!Robert Bird Group is an equal employment opportunity employer.This role does not require agency input.
