Ideally located just south of Wollongong, this premium property offers a relaxed seaside escape with world-class amenities and modern design.About the Role:We are seeking a proactive, hands-on and experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team on a full-time basis at Crowne Plaza Shell Cove Marina, currently nearing construction completion. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and manage all aspects of the hotel building hand over and commissioning, ensuring quality standards, timelines, and safety protocols are met. As opening preparations commence, you will also lay the groundwork for the ongoing maintenance operations of the property. Reporting to the General Manager, this is a unique opportunity to be part of the hotel from the ground-up and play a key role in bringing a world-class hospitality experience to life. As per the current construction schedule, the role is set to commence in June 2025.Key Responsibilities:Pre-OpeningOversee the building handover phase by collaborating with contractors, project managers, and design teams to ensure timely and quality completion.Conduct pre-opening inspections and identify and address any deficiencies, incomplete works, or safety issues prior to handover.Coordinate the handover process and manage the transition from construction to operations, ensuring all building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety) are fully functional and documented, ensuring OHS and WHS compliance.Establish maintenance protocols, develop and implement preventive maintenance plans, standard operating procedures, and emergency response protocols for all property systems and infrastructure.Manage asset inventory and setup by ensuring all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment is installed, tested, and properly inventoried.Manage vendors and contractors and liaise with third-party service providers and ensure post-construction support contracts are in place and active.Partner with Talent & Culture in staff recruitment and training of the maintenance team in preparation for hotel operations.Ensure compliance and safety of all systems to meet local building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards.Budget and resource planning by monitoring maintenance-related expenditures during the transition as well as establishing future budgetary needs.Support the opening team and work closely with hotel leadership to ensure a smooth, efficient opening and ongoing operational readiness.OperationalOversee the entire workflow and logistics of all jobs, including reactive, planned, and proactive tasks, ensuring both technical and engineering aspects are managed efficiently, as well as handling financial and operational responsibilities.Liaising with the hotel operations team regarding all necessary repairs and preventative maintenance in guest rooms and public areas.Lead and develop a team of maintenance professionals, ensuring productivity and the safe and effective use of equipment, machinery and chemicals.Overseeing and reviewing all maintenance systems, OHS and WHS compliance for the hotel including fire and electrical.Planning for and carrying out preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.Maintaining daily work records and preparing monthly maintenance reports.Planning and implementing solutions, managing productivity and overseeing the maintenance budget.Ensuring you are productive and competent in the safe and effective use of equipment, machinery and chemicals.Providing induction and supervision of external contractors when required.About You:Proven experience in hotel maintenance management as well as experience in pre-opening or construction projects.Sound understanding of WHS, OH&S, and manual handling.Knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration units.Ability to manage projects from start to finish.Exceptional written and verbal communication.Excellent time management and organisational skills.Great attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills.Flexibility to work outside of hours when required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
