As a multi-generation family, they take a long-term approach to outcomes and capital accumulation. They seek outside counsel and advice and have a Board comprised of external Non-Executive Directors and family members. Collaboration, discretion, dialogue, and patience are traits critical to successful outcomes in the Family Office. The office operates on a four-day week.The RoleReporting directly to the Board and working in close collaboration with the family shareholders, independent directors, and external advisers, you will manage a small team of dedicated staff. The key responsibilities include:Serve as the primary interface for external advisors, including banking, insurance, tax, and investment professionals.Review and execute detailed investment, cash flow, and performance reporting.Ensure liquidity planning and cash management, incorporating family investment decisions, family needs, and property portfolio requirements.Manage statutory accounting, taxation, and finance functions for the group.Oversee regulatory and compliance functions of the group.Provide counsel to family members on tax and financial issues, including the preparation of income tax returns and year-end tax planning. This will also include finalising a corporate simplification process.Act as a trusted business confidante, financial and strategic advisor, sounding board, risk manager, and supportive resource to ensure the Family Office effectively serves the family.Serve as secretary for the corporate entities, including preparing papers and minutes for main board and committee meetings.Assist with financial due diligence for a broad range of investments, including diversified equity portfolios, fixed income, private equity, and the direct property portfolio under the direction of the CIO.Your TraitsTo succeed in this role, you will be a CA/CPA qualified professional with experience working for, or as a close advisor to, single or multi-family offices or with high-net-worth individuals. You will have broad experience and understanding of private investment structures and the associated tax, accounting, and financial reporting obligations for such entities.
