Senior Director, Commerical FinanceFull-time PermanentDetails : The Senior Director, Commercial Finance is one of the key high performing roles within Infrastructure Canberra and its Projects. This role is responsible for leading financial reporting, forecasting and providing strategic advice on matters specific to the delivery of iCBR Projects, including financial performance and analysis budget preparation. This includes establishing comprehensive reporting and asset management processes, develop and deliver the financial reports including monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statements, and manage internal and external audit requests and other reporting requirements. You will be the Senior Director overseeing a program of works and ensuring financial management of the capital works program. The role demands a high level of accountability and expertise to drive project outcomes and within budget and timeline.You will have a high level of autonomy in determining how the outputs of the project are delivered and will be strongly supported in pursuing opportunities for business process improvements. You will have the opportunity to experience a team culture which values a positive work-life balance without compromising on delivery.The primary responsibilities for this position are to:Work with the Project Directors and Executive Branch Managers to set the strategic direction and priorities for Project finances.Manage and co-ordinate all aspects of the projects financial reporting requirements and processes including the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statements and reports. This will also include managing the relevant relationships and providing submissions to the relevant governance committees.Deliver routine accounting services including the preparation of accruals/journals for centralised accounts, intra-directorate internal trading eliminations, and processing complex technical adjustments.Deliver asset related finance activities including preparation of strategic asset management plans, revaluation programs, impairment assessments, stocktake programs, and monthly processing of additions, transfers, and disposals.Provide performance and risk dashboard reporting, financial analysis and advice that meets the needs of the executives. Represent the project in discussions and negotiations with external and internal agencies.Assist in providing high-level advice, briefings, reports and correspondence to the Executive Team and the Chief Financial Officer.Develop financial reports that complies with Treasury guidelines, statutory reporting and other legislative requirements.Maintain records in accordance with the Territory Records Act 2002.Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the effective and efficient operation of the project.Eligibility/Other Requirements:Mandatory:Positions classified as Infrastructure Manager/Specialist require the occupant to hold recognised qualifications and/or experience in one or more of the following fields:Engineering a four year degree or higher qualification accredited by Engineers Australia or Professionals Australia for recognition as a Professional Engineer (including recognition of equivalent overseas Engineering qualifications) and a minimum of ten years relevant experience in Engineering; orArchitecture a three year degree or higher qualification accredited by an Australian State or Territory Architecture authority for recognition as a Professional Architect (including recognition of equivalent overseas qualifications) and a minimum of ten years relevant experience in Architecture; orProject Management either: a Diploma in Project Management accredited by an Australian State or Territory tertiary education institution (or an equivalent overseas qualification that is eligible for reciprocal recognition in Australia) and a minimum of ten years relevant experience in Project Management; orcertification by a professional body, such as the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM), to the level of Certified Practicing Project Director (CPPD) or Certified Practicing Portfolio Executive (CPPE), in addition to a relevant Degree or higher qualification issued by an Australian State or Territory tertiary education institution (or an equivalent overseas qualification that is eligible for reciprocal recognition in Australia) and a minimum of ten years relevant experience in Project Management; orhave a least 10 years relevant experience in Project Management.Highly Desirable:Accounting/Financea Diploma in Accounting/Finance accredited by an Australian State or Territory tertiary education institution (or an equivalent overseas qualification that is eligible for reciprocal recognition in Australia) and a minimum of ten years relevant experience in Finance;Membership and professional accreditation or progress thereto of a peak Australian accounting body such as CPA or CA.10+ years of public accounting and/or private industry experience with knowledge of accounting and finance areasNote:This is a permanent, full-time position.
