Add expected salary to your profile for insights.Karlka Nyiyaparli Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (KNAC) is the registered native title body corporate for the Nyiyaparli People, with approximately 430 current members.The Nyiyaparli People are the Traditional Owners of approximately 36,684 square kilometres of land and waters in the east Pilbara region, including communities such as Jigalong and Parnpajinya, along with pastoral leases and significant mining operations. Locations within the Determination Area hold cultural significance, including ceremonial sites, songlines, natural resources, and permanent pools.LocationThis role is based at KNACs South Hedland office.Position PurposeReporting to the Financial Wellbeing Co-ordinator, the Home Program Support Officer will assist KNAC members with accommodation management activities, including home purchase and tenancy support aligned with the Home Program. Responsibilities include completing necessary paperwork for home purchases, advocating, and assisting in obtaining rental properties. The role involves designing and delivering workshops for members and the broader community, working closely with stakeholders such as real estate agents, property managers, tradespeople, community service providers, and government agencies. The focus is on quality, compliance, advocacy, and case management.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist members with paperwork for home purchasesAdvocate and support members in obtaining rental propertiesDesign, develop, and deliver workshops and resources for membersCollaborate with stakeholders, including trades, community service providers, and government agenciesManage matters with attention to detail and compliance with policiesLiaise with real estate agents, landlords, insurance companies, and stakeholders to support tenants and minimize arrears and maintenance chargesFollow up on repairs based on inspection reports (e.g., water damage, painting, gardens)Skills & ExperienceExperience working within Nyiyaparli communitiesCultural competence and sensitivity in working with Aboriginal communitiesExperience in housing assistance, including home purchase, rental support, and property managementKnowledge of local housing regulations and policiesStrong advocacy skills for housing rights and needsEffective collaboration with diverse stakeholdersExperience in tenant support, maintenance management, and fostering positive landlord-tenant relationshipsProficiency in housing documentation and legal complianceProblem-solving and decision-making skillsNational Police Check and Working with Children Check (WWCC)Current Driver''s LicenceCPR Certificate (HLTAID009) or equivalentFirst Aid Certificate (HLTAID011) or equivalentMental Health First Aid CertificateNyiyaparli people and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.Why Join Us?At KNAC, youll be part of a supportive, inclusive, and growth-oriented environment.
