THE ORGANISATION STARTTS is a not-for-profit Affiliated Health Organisation focused on providing a broad range of services to refugees in NSW. Our approach is on building capacity and empowering people and communities to take control over their own lives, using a strengths-based approach that builds on individual, family, community, and cultural strengths. THE ROLE This position works within STARTTS Rural and Regional Community Development Team. It is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the All One Under the Sun Collaborative festival in the Coffs Harbour Region, providing capacity-building opportunities for refugee, Indigenous, and multicultural communities. The festival aims to build social cohesion and amplify cultural diversity as a strength in Coffs Harbour, with plans to grow attendance to 10,000 and include a profile headliner to attract a large audience. It is funded by Multicultural NSW and in collaboration with the 2024/25 Stronger Together Local Council Major Festival Grant Program. Vaccination Requirement Category A Essential Requirements Demonstrated successful festival event planning experience with refugee, Indigenous, multicultural communities, and in health, government, or not-for-profit sectors in Coffs Harbour. Proficiency in managing all event logistics, including venue, catering, registration, and AV requirements. Strong organizational and time management skills. Capacity building skills and bilingual ability in relevant community language. Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multicultural environment. Proven problem-solving skills with adaptability to unforeseen challenges. NSW Drivers Licence. Desirable Requirements Connections within Coffs Harbour multicultural sector, Gumbaynggirr and First Nations communities, and relevant organizations. Interest in human rights and social justice issues. Additional Information This is child-related employment requiring a Working with Children Background Check and Police Check.
