About the role This full-time position is a key component of the Progress Rail Service team. You will be engaged to support the design, supply, integration, and safety assurance of the CBTC system onboard BHPs fleet of SD70 ACe locomotives. The role is part of a locomotive fleet upgrade in Port Hedland, with employees working a day roster of 8 days on 6 off and a night roster of 7 days on and 7 off, fly-in fly-out from Perth. Please note, due to the short turnaround, all employees need to be based in WA. This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone wanting to break into the FIFO industry for the first time. Skills and experience Driver''s Licence is essential. Ability to read, comprehend, and apply technical drawings. Previous experience in locomotive freight maintenance or service activities is desirable. Experience within heavy maintenance, diesel, or power generation environments. Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work unsupervised and be a hands-on team player. Proven ability to organise and prioritise tasks, be flexible, resourceful, proactive, and professional with a high degree of initiative and strong communication skills. High-level problem-solving skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Willingness to further knowledge and skills through additional training. Knowledge of diesel/electric locomotive engines and related equipment is preferable. Why work for us?
