Join us as a Library Customer Service Officer, a role that blends community and cultural engagement, and customer service!Make a positive impact through programming deliveryWork across multiple venues and teams across Lake MacquarieEnjoy a balanced lifestyle and focus on the important things in life - Work part-time!LETS EXPLORE THE JOBAs a Library Customer Service Officer (known internally as Cultural experiences officer), you will be integral to deliver exceptional community-focused services across our library and cultural facilities.Primarily a front-of-house role, you will work across our library and/or gallery and museum services, warmly welcome visitors, manage inquiries, maintain floor space and collections and support contemporary and progressive culturally based programming and events. As a versatile team member, you will ensure seamless service delivery, fostering enriching experiences for the community.This role also involves leveraging technology, such as library management software and point of sale systems, to support individual customer needs and guiding customers in using our collections, services, and facilities. Your work will bridge library services and cultural engagement, creating meaningful connections within the community.We currently have permanent part-time position at our Charlestown Library, and temporary 3-year opportunity at Wangi Library Creative Hub.Read theposition statement and learn more about this exciting opportunity. Be advised, this role is referred to as the Cultural Experiences Officer within Council.OUR VENUESOur Charlestown Library is our busiest library. Its vibrant contemporary space aspires people to meet, acquire knowledge and share experiences. A permanent part-time opportunity is now available, 21-hours per week at this facility. Make Charlestown Library, walyamayi your place to work.Wangi Library Creative Hub is the first of its kind in the Hunter Region to operate under a community self-access model and be a co-located library and creative space. The revamped facility is now accessible through self-access with staffed on select days.The hub includes spaces for artmaking and local exhibitions, improved areas for community gathering and workshops, and refreshed spaces for books and other items for loan. A temporary part-time opportunity is now available, 12-hours per week at this facility. Come to Wangi Library Creative Hub and connect with your community.Conditions of Employment include:Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and school holiday periods is essential, as is the ability to adapt to varied tasks and locations. The role involves occasional travel and visits to external sites/depots, the requirement to undertake customer facing duties and at times working in a solo capacity. This role is applied to a rotating roster between, operating Monday through to Sunday; 8.00am to 9.00pm. A Working with Childrens Check for paid employment and a current Drivers License is essential for this position.LETS HEAR ABOUT YOUWe are looking for a dynamic, proactive, and approachable individual with a passion for community service. Your ability to deliver exceptional customer service in libraries and galleries, will be crucial. Strong communication skills and the ability to handle diverse situations with professionalism and empathy are key to success in this role.Your tech-savviness, including familiarity with library and event management software, will help you navigate both library and cultural programs seamlessly.
