Hexagon Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial is looking a motivated Software Test Engineer / QA Test Engineer to join our Developers team in Perth.Be part of a small but agile team within our global research and development group, you''ll play a key role in developing innovative software products. Our work focuses on cutting-edge technologies such as geospatial image preparation, compression, and delivery systems, deployed worldwide.In this hands-on role, youll collaborate closely with developers and a product manager to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our advanced solutions. By integrating sensors, software, domain expertise, and customer workflows, we build intelligent ecosystems that automate processes, enhance decision-making, and boost productivity.About the roleAs a Software Tester youll play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. Working closely with developers throughout the development lifecycle, youll help drive the delivery of high-standard solutions. Your responsibilities will include:Conduct software quality assurance and testing across company products.Develop, maintain, and enhance existing Python-based automation test suites and benchmarking tools.Execute user acceptance and functional testing to ensure product reliability and performance.Support DevOps activities, including maintaining and troubleshooting the continuous integration (CI) build system.Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation.Collaborate directly with customers to ensure software solutions meet defined requirements and expectations.Work closely with support teams and customers to assist with software installations and diagnose technical issues.Candidate Skills and Attributes:Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and customer-focused approach.Proven technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on root-cause analysis.Excellent time management and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders, delivering work and project updates in a timely, professional manner.Collaborative team player, working effectively across disciplines, regions, and global teams.Able to write and present clear, effective technical documentation.Comfortable working autonomously or as part of a team, liaising with global teams, third-party providers, and technical personnel.Proactive, self-motivated, and performance-driven, with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.Adaptable to changing priorities, demonstrating a flexible approach to work and continuous improvement.What were looking for:Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on automation.Proficiency in Python for software development and test automation.Familiarity with GIS systems and mapping technologies.Solid understanding of modern automation testing practices and tools.Knowledge of contemporary software development methodologies (e.g., Agile/Scrum).Bonus if you have experience with:Database setup and scripting.Equal Opportunity Statement: Hexagon is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
