We do this by effectively curating, managing, and analysing data, providing advice and insight to support evidence-informed practices, and fostering a data literate culture.System Performance is responsible for providing data analytics and business intelligence services to the Department for Education and leads data governance.The Data Operations and Service directorate is responsible for ingesting, storing, organising, and managing data held in the Department''s data warehouses/repositories. It is the engine room of System Performance, ensuring that data is clean, high quality, usable and available. The team is also responsible for liaising with customers to assess and prioritise their requirements, and leading data governance operations for the Department. Data Operations and Service manages the full range of data life cycle functions, including business analysis, data engineering, product development, and testing.The Department for Education is seeking an experienced Lead Business Analyst. In this role, you will lead and manage the business analysis team within the Data Operations and Service directorate. Youll oversee the detailed analysis of data and information requirements, driving the development of data-driven frameworks, and ensuring the effective delivery of data products to support decision-making across the department.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, manage, and mentor a team of business analystsPerform and oversee business analysis for data analytics tasks, including requirements gathering and documentation, changes to existing data assets, and data product designLead and collaborate with cross functional delivery teams and stakeholders to capture business needs and propose solutionsIdentify dependencies across varied tasks and contribute to strategic planning and framework developmentWhat We''re Looking ForExperience leading and managing a high performing team of business analystsKnowledge and understanding of data analytics concepts, tools, and techniques, as well as the Business Analysis toolsetDemonstrated experience providing expert advice to stakeholdersWell-developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communicationRefer to the attached ASO7 Lead Business Analyst position description for the key outcomes and competencies required for this role.QualificationsEssential: A tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, Data Science or equivalent experience in the field.Desirable: IIBA certifications: CCBA, CBAP, CBDA and AAC.What We OfferAs the Lead Business Analyst, you''ll have the opportunity to build and lead the business analysis team and enable decision makers to leverage data as a strategic asset to improve educational outcomes.In addition to your salary, superannuation and leave loading, we offer flexible and hybrid working arrangements including working from home up to 3 days per week and flexi time.RemunerationASO7 $108,109 - 116,864 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (11.5%) and leave loading.Special ConditionsThe successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
