Base pay range $60,000.00/yr - $60,000.00/yr Job Overview The Grant Writer will research and write government proposals, United Way applications, and private foundation requests to fund current Salvation Army operations and create new funding for programs throughout the Northeast Ohio Division footprint. Responsibilities include submitting timely reports, gift acknowledgements, updating foundation and government data, maintaining a grants calendar, and reporting monthly on funding attainment. The role involves working closely with senior staff to contribute to the department''s fundraising success. Responsibilities Government and Proposal Contracting: Research and identify government funding opportunities for the division. Develop and submit grant proposals to public entities. Collect, analyze, and report on funded program performance. Maintain all related files and records to comply with funder requirements. Foundations and Corporations: Research and identify private foundation funding opportunities. Develop and submit proposals to foundations and corporate entities. Report on funded activities and maintain necessary documentation. Additional Duties: Support program assessments and funding tracking. Maintain a grant calendar with deadlines and requirements. Engage with government, foundation, and corporate personnel for relationship building. Assist with promotion and fundraising efforts as needed. Qualifications Bachelor''s Degree. At least 5 years of experience in fundraising or grant writing, preferably in non-profit sectors. Proven success in grant writing, with experience in government funding preferred. Excellent communication skills, proficiency in research, data analysis, and Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality. Understanding and support of The Salvation Army''s mission and values.
