Job Description

Hays Adelaide, South Australia, Australia Key Responsibilities Design of drilling, blasting, and production plans. Liaising with all stakeholders to ensure drill and blast designs meet site requirements. Regular field visits (3-4 times per swing) to oversee drill and blast activities, ensuring safety and efficiency. Review of drilling, blasting, and production plans as needed. Conduct QA/QC monitoring for production activities. Perform stope reconciliations and abandonments upon completion. Manage and monitor the iKon blasting system. Review and approve survey memos. Maintain quality data related to underground performance. Lead projects aimed at process and practice improvements. Design Mine Development Plans (MDPs) as required. Support other Mining Engineering functions. Assist in incident investigations and implement safety improvements. Conduct task observations and Critical Control Verifications (CCV). Candidate Profile Required Experience and Skills: Minimum 2 years in an underground, hard rock, metalliferous mine environment. At least 12 months of practical underground experience. Proven drill and blast design experience in sublevel open stoping. Experience with short-term scheduling (preferred but not essential). Motivated, self-directed, and able to work under pressure. Strong relationship-building skills. Commitment to safe production practices. Ability to work independently both in the office and underground. Proficiency with MS Office and Deswik software suite.
