Western Plains features multi-purpose infrastructure which is adaptable to the evolving needs of Corrections Victoria and the people in our care. Through its innovative design and service model, Western Plains aims to create a thriving environment conducive to safety and positive behavioural change.Abut the RoleThis role is part of the Workforce and Prison Services (WPS) team, a team dedicated to delivering essential corporate and ancillary services support to prison operational teams and prisoners. Leveraging the technical ability and professional expertise of trained subject matter experts, the team supports the smooth functioning of prison operations while prioritising prisoner rehabilitation and safety.Reporting to the Senior Advisor, Finance and Procurement the Finance and Procurement Advisor will be responsible for supporting all activities that relate to finances and procurement activities for the facility. This includes prison financial transactions, the completion of monthly financial reporting and required process and managing end to end procurement activities.As the Finance and Procurement Advisor, some of your duties will include:Providing authoritative and accurate advice to staff on key budget and financial management practices in compliance with operating procedures.Preparing tools and information to assist staff to comply with financial management processes.Participating in the facility''s financial management obligations through budget analysis activity, financial reconciliation and required reporting.To learn more about this role before applying, please read the attached position description.About youTo be successful in this role, you will have:Knowledge of legislation, policies and processes related to government accounting and procurement preferably within a state government environment (or similar).Strong conceptual, analytical and research skills with an aptitude for problem solving in the context of financial and budget resource management.QualificationsA qualification in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance and/or commensurate experience is highly regarded.How to ApplyPlease click the Apply button on this advertisement.
