This role involves a wide range of responsibilities, from mechanical repairs and diagnostics to equipment maintenance and on-site support. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the performance and reliability of our mobile plant equipment and dewatering systems across workshop and project locations.Key ResponsibilitiesWorkshop-Based Repairs & Maintenance - Carry out diagnosis, repair, servicing, and assembly of a wide range of mobile plant equipmentincluding vehicles, trailers, pumps, generators, and enginesensuring compliance with OEM specifications, technical drawings, and safety standards.Field Service & On-Site Support - Provide on-site troubleshooting, maintenance, and emergency repairs for mobile plant and dewatering systems, including installation of pipework and field inspections, with occasional travel to project locations.Diagnostic and Technical Expertise - Use advanced diagnostic tools, software, and technical documentation to identify and rectify faults in mechanical and electrical systems, including engines, drivetrains, hydraulics, braking, and pumps.Quality Control and Compliance - Ensure all maintenance and repair activities comply with internal quality systems, safety protocols, and statutory requirements, with accurate service records and inspection documentation maintained.Parts and Equipment Management - Maintain workshop tools and equipment in accordance with manufacturer and site standards, ensuring inventory is managed effectively and work areas are kept clean and operational.Team Collaboration & Support - Work collaboratively with workshop and procurement teams, provide mentoring to apprentices, and contribute to continuous improvement in maintenance practices.Client Liaison and Reporting - Communicate with clients and stakeholders regarding repair progress, equipment performance, and improvement recommendations, ensuring transparency and service quality.Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance - Follow all HSE procedures during workshop and field activities, promoting a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with legislative and company standards.About youTo be successful in this role, you should have:Qualifications & ExperienceTrade qualification as a Diesel Motor Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (Certificate III or higher)Minimum 2 years experience in a similar roleLicenses & CertificationsMR/HR Rigid Drivers LicenseWorking at Heights, confined space (advantageous)Construction Industry OHS White card (advantageous)Skills & AttributesStrong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding expertiseAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAttention to detail and commitment to safety protocolsPre-Employment RequirementsNational Police ClearancePre-employment medical & drug/alcohol screeningHow to ApplyReady to take the next step in your career?Apply now by sending your resume and a brief cover letter to recruitment@abbaeng.comApplications are accepted from 14 May 2025 to 12 June 2025.Want to chat first?
