Workplace Type: Onsite We are currently recruiting a highly experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join the APAC Exploration team, reporting directly to the Exploration Health and Safety Lead APAC. This pivotal role will champion the implementation of Newmonts Health and Safety Strategic Initiatives and programs, primarily across our Cadia and Lihir Exploration portfolios, supporting other sites across the region as required. You will collaborate closely with our Exploration and Geoscience teams and travel regularly to sites across Australia and PNG. A day in the life of a Health & Safety Advisor may include: Lead the implementation of Newmonts Exploration Health & Safety initiatives, including the Fatality Risk Management and Live Work Elimination Programs. Be a visible and vocal safety leader across our exploration sites. Participate in incident investigations, event classification guidance, and assurance activities. Facilitate and participate in risk assessment workshops. Deliver safety data reporting and analysis to identify and address areas for improvement. Consult and collaborate with stakeholders, business partners, and the Exploration & Geoscience team to ensure alignment and standardization across the Exploration portfolio. About you: Previous experience working onsite in Health and Safety roles within mining, drilling, exploration, or similar high-risk industries. Tertiary qualification in Health, Safety, Science, or Human Factors is desirable. Experience and expertise in implementing Health and Safety initiatives and programs. Proven experience leading risk management activities. Experience in contractor management, audits, inspections, and assurance activities. Experience in leading incident investigations. A strong understanding of mining and WHS legislation and its application. Ability to coach and advise team members to foster a positive safety culture of care and inclusion. You should possess strong influencing, consultation, and communication skills for partnering cross-functionally with leaders and stakeholders. Your experience in data analysis will help drive insightful, data-informed decisions. The role follows a 2:1 roster, requiring frequent travel across Newmont sites and offices within the APAC region.
