In December 2021, Golf Australia (GA) and the Professional Golfers Association of Australia (PGA), together with the WPGA Tour of Australasia (WPGA) launched the Australian Golf Strategy, the first-ever industry-wide strategic plan for the game.With a clear line of sight to the national strategy and its growth aspirations, were all committed to its ideals, headlined by a purpose of encouraging more Australians to play more Golf.The PGA is the peak professional golf body in Australia, responsible for providing career opportunities and growing the industry for more than 2,800 current PGA Professionals, driving world-class golf education and operating Australasias premier mens and womens professional tours the PGA Tour of Australasia and the WPGA Tour of Australasia.Golf Australia is the governing body for golf in Australia. The membership of GA starts with State Associations and cascades down to golf regions, associations, golf clubs and the members of golf clubs across the country. More than 1,400 golf clubs and 425,000 club members are affiliated to GA through their membership and access to the GA Handicap system. In addition to supporting golf clubs and facilities, GA has a sharp focus on participation, encouraging growth, increasing diversity, and presenting golf as a sport for all.Given the collaboration and sharing of services already being undertaken, a corporate entity titled Australian Golf Services (AGS) has been formed to appropriately manage and govern these functions.
