Due to growth, BDOs in-house legal team is recruiting a full-time, junior to mid-level commercial lawyer. This role offers the chance to learn from experienced legal professionals across various practice areas. It suits lawyers wanting to maintain a broad commercial practice and serve as trusted legal advisers. You may be based in Brisbane, Melbourne, or Sydney. The role is hybrid, with a mix of in-office and remote work. Responsibilities Drafting and advising on client and commercial contracts; negotiate and manage complex agreements. Assist with legal matters including privacy, regulatory issues, employment law, investigations, disputes, litigation, and special projects. Research legal issues and support senior lawyers; deepen understanding of legal principles and provide commercial advice. Provide company secretarial support and gain exposure to corporate governance. Update the business on legal developments and provide training, translating complex legal concepts into practical guidance. Qualifications and Skills Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor, eligible to practice in an Australian State or Territory. Likely 2-4 years PQE, private practice experience preferred. Interest in contracts and commercial law, maintaining a broad practice. Strong research, analysis, and interpretation skills to develop practical solutions.
